Our brief for the topic was to research and create a pop art picture using Photoshop. I started out by researching the origins and how pop art was first created, I didn't have much luck as all the information really told me was when and who and not how. Afterwards I went on to look at other inspiring pictures and grabbed a total of 10. the characteristic of these photos where all modern pictures but with very vibrant colours. I also went into looking at set ups for the photo shoot and annotated a nice picture that fit what ours looked likes.
I had to set up out camera onto its stand, the softbox lamp that creates no shadows on the table making it easier to edit and I also set up another lamp to also create no shadows in the back ground. The camera was sitting on top of the flatbed. The camera settings were set to an ISO of 100 to capture all the detail and aperture to 3.2 how ether id prefer a 8.0 so it creates a deeper depth of field. For my picture I went for a simple bottle as I thought editing the image would be easier with a bottle. It took me two tries to finally get a decent looking end result as the first one i didnt print screen my process and it was also really bad but the second time around i went over my mistakes and made a crisper looking picture, even if it still bad.
The project was enjoyable and the editing was good, if i could change anything in my project it would be the items I chose and I would of brought in more better items instead of a bottle like a potatoe to really grasp the randomness I found in my research.

Final Picture
Using the line shape tool I created a perfectly straight lines and lined up my image with it, I then went on to removing the background with the erase tool.
Afterward I filled in the background with a pink colour and then went into the colour balanced and played with the sliders until i found a colour I like. Ill be doing this process another three times.
After I saved my other three images and the one shown above I opened another A4 sized landscape page and sized the shape of of all the images to the exact same size and put them together. There was excess whit page and I used the crop tool to fit the image with out any bits hanging off.
Contact Sheet final edit and process
When taking this picture there were things i had to keep in mind the ISO and the aperture then the shadows in the image, the two bottom picture are more crisp and clear maybe and the shadows at the top could be caused by my positioning. The aperture and ISO wasn't
edited in any of the pictures as i like the way it looked, aperture was set at 3.2 so it could focus on the bottle and the ISO was at 100 due to the amount of light there was.
To edit the picture I first started with editing the levels to bring out the white background in the back so i can edit it clearly and get rid of a few of the shadows.
This is the results of editing with levels the background is whiter and the image is a lot more clear which will allow me to change the color of the image.

Propsoal
For my project I will be taking picture of a bottle of some sort, my iPhone and any other electronical or modern device I can find that is rather colourful to take pictures of. The reason for this is to get a better outcome from my images so they are better to change the saturation and the colour balance.
The images that inspired be are the usual basic pictures where there are multiple of the same picture but with different colours, how ever there is a very creative picture of yoda sniffing a chanel bottle but whats really good about the picture is down to the colour pallet and pattern matches the unique vibe it gives off and no image in the picture looks out of place. The only downside is I dont have the creative ability to recreate this image.
Things I have to keep in mind is the lighting and make sure my photo comes out as bright and HD as it possibly can because it allows for better editing and more creative use, I need to makes sure im being as safe as possible not just physically but also security of my images making sure I have more than one copy in case its corrupted and I lose my work

Memory Check
Q1
– Detail two reasons why we change the ISO
We change the ISO to get good quality photos and find the perfect balance of detail and brightness some shot require a lower ISO but sometimes you need a faster shutter speed.
Q2
– Explain the difference in depth of field between a wide and a
narrow apature
A Narrow aperture allows more detail in the back ground to be shown, this is used when taking pictures of things in the distance like whales, islands and other events to create a deep depth if field.
A Deep aperture allows you to focus on something up close like a horse or a portrait making the background blurred so it can add focus to a certain object.
A Deep aperture allows you to focus on something up close like a horse or a portrait making the background blurred so it can add focus to a certain object.
Q3
– List four consideration your had to take into account when producing your
pop-art photography. For example, depth of field, shadows etc)
Aperture - Change the aperture to create a deep depth of field to fit deeper object with out making anything blurred.
ISO - Use a Low ISO to capture all the detail, making it a better quality picture and easier to edit.
Lighting - Lighting will be used to eliminate any shadows in the photo to edit the picture easily.
Safety - check for safety hazard so i don't injure my self or damage the camera and equipment, so that means any wires that are on the ground.
Q4. Describe when would you choose to use the ‘A’ and
the ‘P’ modes on a camera
A - You would use this mode when you want to control the aperture in order to control the depth of field.
P - you would usually use it if you want the camera to auto adjust to it usually in standard photos

Lighting Diagram
this picture comes close to the same set up as i'll be using to take my picture. Its has similar components one of them is having an over head lamp to add brightness and get rid of any shadows in the image making it a crisp white background, the camera is on a stand that will be facing downwards with another lamp on the side to get rid of any excess shadows.
